    Default Fishing by D'Arbonne spillway

There must have been 40 boats Below the spillway spider rigging. Glad I was not going back there in that Pack .... Studying the Contour Map of the lake I wanted to fish some deep troughs close to the Country Club .... Not a nibble at 20 feet so I moved to 15 foot water where the drop started and caught one keeper Catfish. Another fellow pulled up to a Boathouse close to me so I asked if he was Bream fishing as he had a small cork on his line. His answer was that he was fishing for Bream and Cats.. since early he had not caught no bream but had at least 30 cats in his cooler -- this was at 10 O clock... he said fish under the Boathouse about four to five foot deep. The wind would take the Cork 8 to 10 feet back in the shade at the first house I tried when the cork went out of Sight... I pulled 8 Cats out in a row when it got under far enough and every one got off the hook at the net. I fished several more houses and lost 5 to every one that went in the Cooler .... Bream would bite at the line where the shade started but my hook was too big for the Bream. I finally found one boathouse I parked at and caught several more Cats before one broke the line at where the hook was tied.. I managed to come home with 7 but had lost 25 to 30 at the Boat... Females were full of eggs and most caught had nothing at all to eat in them like Males guarding nest

I managed to sit on my Sandwich during all the fun --- and when I went to bed I watched the cork bobbing for hours.

I hear my fish finder beep after a day of fishing. Then jump from a deep sleep when that pole doubles over

It sounds like you had a blast, Larry, and you brought home supper on top of that. That's what I call gravy. Congratulations!
