I will caution you. It's addictive! It has it's drawbacks. Broken rods, losing lots of line, lost cranks, and the ever so popular tangle from Hades. That said, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. Big fish, lots of fish, and the action. It's a blast trying to land a big fish when several other rods are skint back with fish on the line. It'll completely change the way you fish spring through early winter. It sure did for me. Going on my third year of it now.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.

Go ahead and spool up with 20 lb braid with snap swivels on the cranking reels. Rob's been cranking a while, even with colder water temps and was catching, I actually seen one of his crankbaits one day, lol

Lol. Don't think I didn't take a peek at that jig either! It's definitely picking up nicely on the cranks out there. Keep your eyes open and you may find a Hotty Totty and a Taco Salad floating around there. Hung one on a stump and broke my braid after 200' worth of trying to get it free. The other was swimming one minute and gone the next. Never saw the rod pull back at all. Clean cut. No idea how. Never saw it come up either.

I'm gonna try it out tomorrow a little while, I'll let yall know how it turns out. I mainly just have bass colors, am I wasting my time without devoted crappie colors?

That's an open ended question. It's up to the fish. Yesterday my top color was Chart/Blue Back. Today it was Mad Cow. I have colors that I smoked 'em on two years ago and haven't caught on since. So go figure.

Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.
