It was fun. Yes hit it right. Kind of strange for that lake to be at normal pool in the spring. Should be a good spawn

Thinking about hitting Twain 5/20-22. Am I going to miss the spawn? Think it will still be worthwhile?

Respectfully disagree......... crappie on Twain (as with other lakes) can easily spawn for over a month. We personally have caught true spawning fish well into June. Not to mention, the fish usually have their feed bag on after they spawn to regenerate from their recent activity and can often be found in their pre-spawn haunts (e.g. creek channels) as they start to get the itch to head back out to the main lake into their "summer pattern".

Not all fish spawn at once so move around. Lower end will go first and work their way up the lake.

Also, don't let the rumors of "spawn being over" deter you from goin fishin!

with the cold early spring and just getting warmer weather now i think you will do good 5/20 - 5/22. I have fished Mark twain lake for years and i do good all through May and with the cold nights it could go in to June.
