    Is it safe to run anywhere on Kentucky lake with the lake at 359?

    Even at summer pool 359, there are areas along the main. river edge that are less than 5 foot deep, especially. South of Blood River

    Not at all, at least not in Tennessee portion, if you don't have a lake map, then be alert when out of marked channels

    Kentucky Lake goes from deep to very shallow quickly in some areas.
    I watch the depth finder closely cause I still don't know the lake as well as I like.

    If you are not familiar with the lake I would always recommend staying between the channel markers when possible, I personal think it is ill advised to assume you can run anywhere on the lake. There are some sand bars which extend further out than one would think. I see boats come flying into my back bay, only to watch their disappointment with their motor up and kicking up mud. Just my thoughts. Map recon will generally keep you out trouble.

    Always follow the channel on you GPS and you will have no stress to worry about hitting bottom!
