    Default Green river lake

Hey guys and gals! We are going to try finding the crappie on Green river lake this Wednesday, 4/25 and Thursday. My bud and I have never fished there before. We are going to be staying near the State Marina. Can anyone give us some info if they are spawning yet? Tips on where to possibly find them would be awesome!

    Thanks!
    Scott

What method will you be using? This weekend will be my first time there as well so I’m interested to see these answers.

I don’t think they will be spawning yet. We have been catching them long lining and spider rigging for several weeks and the fish haven’t moved a whole lot. Water temp just broke 60’s this weekend for the fist time. So look for the water temp to be in the upper 50’s- lower 60’s. Like stated above. Find the shad and you will catch the crappies.

Long lining is what I will be trying to do. Not sure where to start though as I’ve never seen the lake before.

Lots of shad below Holmes Bend area, caught most of mine yesterday long lining. Stay close to river channel and flats and you'll find fish. Water temp yesterday was 58-59 degrees. Let me know how you do.
