    Default Taylorsville

Does anyone have any tips for Taylorsville lake? My sister in law called the other day and wants me to surprise her husband with a fishing trip for his birthday. I have never been on this lake in my life. I checked the kydfw website and there are some piles marked. But at the rate we're going they will probably be shallower I think by the 28th. Any help would be appreciated.

Simple lake to fish.... Loaded with timber. You can vertical jig 365 days a year, or long line of that's your fashion. Plenty of takers.

I catch most of my fish at Taylorsville by casting jigs at blowdowns, and occasionally around standing timber ... usually no more than 10ft deep in a max of 20fow.

The lake still has about 5 more feet to drop before reaching Summer Pool .... so if it does and it's been stable weather & water levels for a few days before you go ... casting the banks should put you on some fish, as they should still be pre-spawn or starting to bed by then.

I don't put much stock in the KDFWR piles, myself, because many of them are long gone from the flooding & age ... and those that are still there are likely beat to death on a daily basis.
