    Sounds like the surgeon's loop:

Used to be a Palomar knot regardless but for the last couple years when fishing a jig I only use a loop knot!

Palomar knot on most everything except jigs where I tie a figure-eight loop knot.

I have used the trilene knot my whole life, I’m 60, I did download the app “What Knot to Do” and am determined that an old fart can change. I was determined to start using the loop, but even though my mind said ”loop”, my hands instinctively tied a trilene. I’m gonna give the loop and polomar a chance again.

Never tried a loop knot, just watched some videos. Since a kid I have always tied a blood knot but had issues ice fishing with it. Changed to Trilene knot seems to hold much better never had one slip. Looks like loop knot helps with jig movement.
