The State used to stock them in river below Smith Lake dam. Don't know if they still do.

Hey guys, good morning. I hope you're all doing well.
I heard there were Trout in Alabama. Anyone know where I can locate some? I like Crappie and all, but would like to try my hand at Trout.

Wishing everyone hard hits tight lines and heavy stringers
Sipsey all year below Smith Dam, rainbows with a few browns (They stock it all thru the year). Madison Cnty LK day after Thanksgiving till end of Feb, all rainbows. In TN, Elk river below the dam for about 15 miles, mix of browns and mostly rainbows all year (most trout are in the first 9 miles).
The Riverside Fly Shop's site has generation schedules which are helpful. The river has some monster striper in it too where it becomes deeper.
