Default Caught my first crappie ever today. Lake Wylie 04-08-2018

Me and my buddy went out on Lake Wylie this afternoon to evening. We went to the back of a small cove, with corks and minnows. On my first cast I caught a crappie in 4 FOW cork set to 3 ft. I missed 2 other for sure crappie that didnt make it to the boat. We moved 10 feet up the cove, and my buddy caught a nice 1.3lb slab in 5 feet of water. We probably missed 6 other crappie in that spot. At the end of the day we had 2 crappie, 2 catfish, and 11 small white perch. I was thankful that we finally were able to get on some, and that I caught a crappie. On another note, we went out on the 6th and the water was absolutely not as warm as it was today. Im almost positive that the rain coming from the south is what warmed up the water so much. We were finding temps close to 70 further back in the coves. It was a good day in my book, I got done what I wanted to.

Welcome to the fantastic, fickle world of crappie fishing...the adventure begins.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Glad you found a few willing to bite and also, I'm glad you took to a cork and got close to shore like mentioned! You'll do better in a few days if you stay on them and keep up with their movement.

Woo hoo! Glad you caught some. Like bigdawg said, stay after them. It should only get better where you were at.
