Snow this weekend! Heading to Alabama, maybe I can get good weather and catch fish.
Thinking same thing from Indiana.
Would like to also, another 8 inches of snow yesterday and 6 degrees this morning high of 24. Still 25 inches of ice and driving on it. Some years Minn sucks!!!
I was in Alabama last week.
We didn't kill the fish by any means but it did seem they were ready to start heading shallow.
We spent a lot of time running around looking at water that was new to us. I started to say we wasted the time looking but until you look, you just never know.
We only caught 3 fish in water deeper than 5'. Caught 30+ fish in 2-5 fow and those were caught on a jig & cork set 16" deep.
The last few nights we were there, shore bound anglers were catching fish sitting on the docks.
Good luck if you go.
Keep driving south until the water starts to taste salty. The redfish and sheepshead bite is on fire inshore at the moment from the Ft. Morgan peninsula to well-east of Pensacola. Pompano are showing up on the beaches in good numbers if you can find a spot where the spring breakers aren't harassing the fire out of you. I just got back from a four day visit with family in Baldwin County and left fish biting.

Why stop in Alabama, this weekend is fish free in Florida
