Thanks for all the advice, we cancelled our Grenada trip and now heading to Washington. Taking my 77 yr old man who is dying to catch some slabs, can't afford a guide so looking for any advice or help on Washington. Will be there this Fri -Tues. Just looking for any honest info that will help us land some fish. Not looking to bring a bunch of fish home just would like to catch a few and make what could be our last big trip together memorable. Please PM me if you don't want it public.

You can try up in the trees... Really wish this rain and cold weather were not coming in on Thursday, but it may get right after a few days pass...

Spider rig, and remember there is no pole limit or hook limit per pole on washington. Last time I was there I saw a guy fishing 8 poles with 4 hooks on each pole. I'd definitely use minnows either straight or tipped on a jig. Usually you know where they're biting based on where the boats are gathered. Talk to Mike at Bait n Thangs he usually will have some pointers

Call Meatgetter Guide Service on Washington. He fishes there everyday, weather permitting.

I second that advice. Follow the herd. Good luck to your old man. May he stick a pig this weekend.

It was a 1860 SC Stalker with a 70 Suzuki on it. I ran the same boat with the 70 Yamaha on it when we first started fishing the tourneys together. His was about 3-5 mph faster than mine and got better fuel mileage. Make my old man's dream come true (Washington)
