I know a bass guy that is running the latest HDS(16" screen I think), 2-12" HDS graphs and live wells. He has fished 2 full days before on 1 charge. His batteries are 6 years old. Expecting to get 10 plus years on them.

I have a 36 volt Ultrex so I have 400lbs of batteries in the back of the boat. I can use the Relion cranking battery, pick up a 36 volt Lithiumpros or another brand of 36 volt battery and have 2 batteries in the back for a total weight of 60 to 70lbs verses 400lb. This is a very expensive experiment and one I may regret but I want to be able to run electronics all day without having to worry about cranking engine at the end of the day. I also want to trim some weight on rear of boat.

I have a big live well up front with a second toward the back. I think I can actually get less bow bounce in windy conditions by dropping weight in the rear. I will be able to flatten out the boat with water in both live wells.
If they hold up 10 years wo drop in quality it’s probably a good investment. I like the less weight!!!

For a 24v system that’s 130.00 per year IF they last 10 years. If going fast is your goal like the Bass Boys, the weight difference might matter, but at 130 a year, that’s a new battery EVERY year.

Numbers don’t like. Guess there’s something to be said about peace of mind.

I was looking to put a set of those in my boat when I went 24 volt but I didn't have a compartment tall enough for them.

I couldn't care less about speed, just want to run my electronics and live wells all day plus I would like to balance weight out in boat. This should make for less bow bounce on rough days. I have the best batteries that you can buy right now. The cranking battery will just not do it! I thought about adding another battery dedicated to just electronics but more weight, expense, wiring and space for another battery. The lithium ion seems like my best option, could be an expensive experiment.

I have never ran the trolling batteries down even on tough windy days. I plan to start with the cranking battery, if it holds up I will then move to a single 36 volt trolling battery. The trolling battery switch will be for weight savings not because the batteries won't last all day.

The prices listed are not always what you pay, just have to do some shopping but they are still expensive! Like I stated in first post not for everyone.
