    Default Douglas lake

Water temp ranges from 52 to 57 way back up in Indian creek. Bigger crappie seem to be coming suspended just outside of their spawning coves. Back in Indian creek it was about a 1 to 1 keeper versus 9 inchers. Wasn’t lights out but a little better than Monday. Going to give it a try the next couple days and see if we can find more concentrated numbers of fish.

Douglas always seems a little behind some of the other lakes. Good job.

Tried again today, water temps stayed the same as yesterday. Winds had picked up and fishing was much tougher. Partner had a minnow floating 8 feet down near a point near gator point marina. the pole was sitting on the floor and out the back of the boat (which has wave wackers on it.) All of a sudden that pole took off like a freight train and took flight, it definitely wasn’t a snag as we were in 30 feet of water. I have a feeling it was a striper as I saw some nice fish busting shad out there. Tried casting deep running cranks and dragging the anchor around but couldn’t hook the line.

Other than that it was a struggle to put some crappies in the boat. Those I talked too had a tough day too. That’s fishing...

It’s been a strange “spring “ for my fishing. Glad you’re catching some.

Fished Muddy Ck yesterday. Absolutely miserable day. Cold, windy, rough water. Water temp at 54 degs. Two of us caught a total of 4. Tough day. Will try again tomorrow.

This yoyo weather is the pits... soon as it warms up fishing the bite will be on as the females are bursting with eggs. Good luck all!
Sadly, I am back home up north and have another 4-6 weeks before the spawn up here. Sigh...
