I have one that I won last year at crappie masters registration ticket drawing. I use the Hbird Lake master so my 2 units work together. It works just fine in my new hummingbirds I don't know which navonics I have it came in a clear hard case . Navonics is a sponsor of Crappie master and they donated the cards.

Hummingbird lake master chip is great for HD lakes but those that’s not Hd Navionics is better . High definition lakes are 1’ contours other lakes that are not are 10’ on lake master . And if you buy new check with Brian at Bbg marine.

I'm of the opinion that a chip for a Humminbird will fit any Humminbird?

Tim, do your research. Go to both sites and check to see which one covers the lakes you fish on a regular basis. Like Slabprowler said it depends on whether HD or not on Lakemaster. On Navionics their contour lines are more defined. I have both and on our big 4 which all were surveyed in the last 4 years and are all HD you can't beat them. But on same lakes the Navionics is much better than older Lakemaster chips. One will cover some lakes and then the other will cover different lakes in the same area. I hope we haven't throughly confused you now.

On the Navionics site it says that it will accept a platinum South to get me what I want. I think. I found some used and some have been offered, and have also been offered an 859 to upgrade my front unit. Now if my rich uncle will get his butt out of the poor house I'll be in good shape. I'll answer everyone as soon as I understand what I need to fit my needs. Thanks for the info and patience everyone.
