It's been a busy couple of months and unfortunately, I've been extremely slack with my Crappie.com reports. Although I haven't taken the time to post up many reports, I have had the opportunity to fish a good bit and I've had some pretty stellar days on the water. My boat and I have been all over the place in the last month or so from Clark's Hill, Lake Murray, and Santee and I've been blessed with some very nice fish at all three locations. I've also been blessed with the opportunity to fish with lots of friends and family on these trips.
To summarize, most fish were caught tightlining an assortment of jigs and minnows, but some fell victim to the old trusty jig pole. Back in mid-February I found fish to be deep and we were able to follow them into the shallows where some nice fish were caught. The last full moon had the big girls on the move on Lake Murray and my Dad and I seemed to hit it just about right. This has been one of the better years as far as size of fish that has been caught from my boat. We've been fortunate enough to catch 2lb+ fish from every body of water we've fished and the biggest went nearly 2 3/4lb from Santee.
It seemed like the most recent cold snap moved the fish back out a little bit and I expect after a week of warm temps the lakes could experience another round of great fishing. The spring time fishing that every crappie angler dreams about is here. Hopefully, I'll do a little better keeping up with posting a few reports in the future. On that note, I'll leave everyone with lots of photos of the action. Tight Lines!!
