Great write up and screen shots! I keep holding off pulling the trigger on the Mega DI and this doesn't help 8-)

Thank you for the informative post. Sometimes we get the fish even on windy days, so I go every chance I get. Congratulations on the catch, great Pictures. Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks for the comments guys. I went back yesterday and without the sonar it would have been tough. They had closed all spill gates....the water level went down by 3 feet and the white bass had mostly moved out of the dead lock I was fishing. There were 3 spots in the lock like the image. They had moved up in the water column and while I caught plenty of fish, without sonar it would have been hit or miss. I am assuming they headed to the creeks to start the spawn.

Congrats on your catch. Your screen shots look's great. Question about the background color on your DI is it always black. I just got the mega 10 about a month ago but just got to try it out last week. I am having trouble with my 2D Sonar. Be talking with Humminbird Custom services Monday will be sending it back. Mind did not show the black background. Is that the way it always show or do I need to do something with the settings.

Thanks for the comment. Yes it is always black.....I prefer the amber color for the imaging.

The screen is only black in di. Correct? Not 2d.

A quick check before heading out the door fishing and my Helix 10 Mega does not have that option in the power button. I think the only way for you to get a different color background on the sonar screen is to switch to a different color palate. It could be somewhere else in the menu but it is not in the quick tap of the power button.....I think it used to be though. I will check it out further when I get on the water.
