Default Bluetooth Remote RC 2 ; HELIX 12 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N

I was wondering if any of you Helix boys are using RC 2 ? And if you are , do you find it useful?

Yes, easy to connect, able to move it to gps so I can see Smart Strike, speed, etc. while traveling. I just need to refocus on which screens I want to pre program.

The RC 2 has built-in dongle , correct? Are you running one on the bow?

Connects directly with Bluetooth and yes, Helix 10 on bow. I really like it, again, because after recovering my Ulterra I can remotely change screen to GPS from behind the console allowing me to look at lake view, Smart Strike locations, and other aspects of the transducer once out of the water. No dongle necessary like the first series. Same price.

Rickie : I am baffled about you not having one; is it because there aren't enough buttons to figure out? Is it to simple? I know, I know, your thinking that I am easily baffled (true); go ahead and say it...

I have one and two of the RC1's.

The Dongle that comes with the RC1 is the receiver for the remote, the RC2 has no dongle - that receiver is now built in the PCB of the more capable G2N's whereas the G1's had the dongle as an add-on.

If I am @ the wheel and I want to change views on the bow, the remote is handy to have.

The buttons have a default setting, but are programmable too.

I do not change the defaults because I'd have to pull out more hair trying to remember how I had each set up when a battery change is needed. LOL

Can you take snapshots with the remote?
