I have 2 ego nets. One is there expandable alum net that sell for about $40.00 and the other is the high dollar moder that expands and is heavy. It sells for around 120.00 and is a high quality net. Let your pocket book be your guide.

I tried the Ego and parked it (Too heavy for me) and got a Cummings net. The handle extends to something like 8'-9' long and can easily be handled with one hand/arm when landing a fish. Only thing I did was remove the rubber net from my Ego and put it on my Cummings. I picked the Cummings net up From Mark at The Crappie Hole.

I'm too cheap, for crappie I use a crab net and insert the wood handle in a aluminum pole about 7 or 8 foot long. Works for me but don't float unless you put a swim noodle on the handle.![]()

LOLI AINT checked mine by throwing it in the lake to see (like some people do
), but my Silstar rods float. Don't ask me how I know that.

Call Ed Duke at southern crappie rods. He has nets that extends to 12 ft and there very light. You can handle it with one hand , I think it cost around 40 or 50 bucks. I was up there last week and he had them in stock
