    Default PLACES TO STAY ON EAGLE LAKE??? BAIT?


    Hi guys, I'm looking for some information on places to stay and the closest place to buy bait on Eagle lake. Thanks for any and all help.

    There are a few cabins for rent at Eagle Lake Outfitters. Bait is available at Yore County Store about a mile north of the boat ramp. There are not many cabins to rent...most places are owned by weekenders that are not rented out. Better hurry, the road going to the lake will be closed by the middle of next week because of the stinkin’ flood.

    You can get rooms at Chotard Landing. We stayed there this past weekend. Better take food. Nothing much to eat unless you drive to Vicksburg. Might get lunch or a burger at the Low Sto.

    Thanks guys..was thinking on coming down next week but never been to Eagle. So high water is going to be a problem on or around Eagle next week?

    eagle is outside the levee so it dosn't flood but the road to get to it gets closed at (i think) 46ft ms river at vicksburg gauge. river is showing it will crest at 49ft on 3/14 next week will be cutting it close to be able to get to chotard landing were i stay a lot. i would call mr larry at chotard landing and see what he thinks. he owns the place and lives there super good guy.

    Chotard Resort is out the question. It will be a lake in a few more days....it is inside the levee. The river is forecast now to crest at over 50 feet. We had a place at Chotard for years until the flood finally got us in 2011. This is getting to be an every year occurrence. We’ve been fighting floods every year since 2008.

    Yes, I believe road closes at 46.5, the way I remember it is the highway is actually 465
