Default Black Nose on High Rock

Caught this black nose Wednesday. Some say it’s a way to keep track of this breed the government designed. I know we’ve talked about it before but don’t know much about them. Name: IMG_0263.jpg

I know of two that came out of Lake Wylie in the past couple of years. DNR said they were not stocked. Maybe someone transplanted a couple. I have no problem with them, wish I could have kept the first one that CrappieKidd caught but it was close to the 8" limit so we threw him back. Didn't want a ticket if we were to get checked! Sure are pretty looking though! I wonder if they would give a state record for it?

This one may have been 12” not big.

I saw Richard Gene catching them like that on Lake Guntersville in Alabama. One of his YouTube shows he caught several with the black nose.
