    Default Grenada Lake

Hello everyone! I am new to crappie fishing, in fact, I recently just started fishing again since being a teenager. My son loves fishing, and he convinced me to buy a boat this past August. We made several catfishing trips, this past Fall, to Wilson on the Tennessee River, but we have decided to try our hand at crappie fishing. Over the past several weeks, I have read quite a bit about how good the crappie fishing is on Grenada Lake, and I want to give it a try. Where would y'all recommend launching, buying minnows, etc.? We will be coming from Marion County, AL.

    thanks

When is your planned trip to Nader?
Get back home and plan something in the Pickwick lake area.
Have camper and kayaks, will travel.

Grenada is muddy and trash floating every where due to rain last week. I was on Grenada two days ago checking some new electronics and it was a mess. I could not see fish for all the limbs floating and sinking. It will be at least two weeks before I go and fish.

My recommendation is to hire a guide your first day here and trust him, whether it's me or someone else, it will be money well spent. Lake levels make this lake change often and quick. Hope you and your son have a great trip but don't rush it, mid March through the end of April will be good.
If I can help give me a hollar, number is in my signature. Good luck and safe travels.

Thanks for the responses. We had initially planned on making a trip on Monday, but other obligations changed that. I have actually thought about the guide route so that I could watch and learn from someone with experience. What is the typical cost to hire a guide?

I do *** for crappie.com folks and in my boat you would not be watching anything, you and your partner would be manning the poles with me standing behind you, most guides here do this.
I'd put this off for at least 3 weeks at the earliest.
