Default Helix 9 Si transducer swap

So I just purchased a new in the box Gen1 Helix 9 Si with the standard transducer that comes with it and I am considering upgrading to the HDSI transducer before I mount everything My question is...Is there anyone who has compared the images between the standard and the HDSI.? If so, can you really tell a difference? Is it worth spending the extra money?
Thanks in advance for any input y’all may have

I think someone posted Humminbird is only charging $85 for the upgrade- IMO it's worth it. It won't give you Mega imaging, but it will be an improvement.

Like scrat said, I asked that last week, and after hearing their opinions, I went ahead and ordered the HD transducer. Humminbird only charged me $85 for the upgrade. Thing is, if you don’t upgrade and decide down the road you want to, unless you can find a used one, they’re over $200 on Humminbird’s website. I knew I’d eventually want it so I went ahead and “saved” that money.

I’m in the same boat. Patiently (ok very impatiently) waiting on Humminbird to get my HD transducer back to me as well.

Understand that for sure. I went the opposite way because most of the lakes I fish aren’t mapped anyway, except for one or two that I’m wanting to try and learn on up in the spring, so I figured I’d get more out of the HD transducer first.
