Ok. I live on the Clermont Chain and have fished every lake with the exception of Minnehaha....how'd you do on it?

Every year isalittle different, like 5 years ago Lousia was hot. There is a bunch of bait inLousia and some real big fish. Generally speaking you catch more small fish onMinnehaha, Lousia is hit or miss but the ones you catch are the largest on thechain (that’s been my experience). Minneola seems to be in between, yieldingslightly better quality than Minnehaha but smaller than Lousia. Have alsocaught crappie on Lakes: Susan, Hiawatha, Palatalakaha not too much luck inWinona or Crescent. Haven’t fished crappie in any of the lakes downstream ofMinneola (Wilson, Cherry), but have heard of people getting them in Cherry lakein December. I’ve heard Emma and Lucy are good as well, only tried them onceand got skunked.

Like I said...I've fished them all with the exception of Minnehaha. The best fish I've caught have been in Wilson and Cherry.

I'm curious about Minnehaha because I rarely see a boat on the lake other than weekend pleasure boaters. I've seen people bank fishing between Palatkahaha and Minnehaha near the cypress but not much else. Tight Lines!

Slammer is right on. For size it’s Louisa......... but it’s been a few years since the lake has been ‘lights out’.
The excess water throughout the chain now is unreal. Little doubt the fish will be scattered for awhile until some of this flooded back water recedes.......

Now you can get back all the way into cherry lake which wasn’t possible for years, and it’s a great little float secenery wise, but the fish are limited in average size.

You can keep Minneola and all the pleasure boating yahoos, good schools but again smaller in size. Best fished when it’s colder....less traffic.

Lucy and Emma usually have less traffic, once my brother in law caught a 2lber out of Emma ....... and I love it for bluegill on small spinners, but numbers...... maybe not so much.

I may prefer to travel to hunt some size...........but I love how beautiful this chain is.............. some days it’s just the ticket.

Good luck! And enjoy the lakes.
