Default Motor down just in time for spring bite

Well my motor is down. Started hearing s knock in motor week or so ago. So I checked it for bad rod bearings and exactly what I didn’t want to see was the number 2 piston with slack in it. Looks like I’m bout drop some money on it. At least new bearings if not new crank. And hopefully no damage to cylinders. Oh did I mention I just had it in shop last year to get rebuilt.

Where are you located? I'm always looking for a partner and my boat's working.

Shoot. I'm just below Baton Rouge. If you're ever down this way, hit me up and I'll show you around the Atchafalaya.

Sorry to hear that a recently overhauled motor went down. I had mind redone last year, bored block by professionals, new pistons, rings, bearings, seals, waterpump, and carburetors rebuilt. She ran for ten years without a problem and I hope she goes ten more. Good luck with yours.

Sucks to hear, may take a bit more work but boat downsizing increases not only fish size but forearm size. ...... at least one of em.... popeye

    Hey Gene,
I need a new piston in my Yamaha 50; who did your rebuild? A Dealer or Independent Shop?

Snuffy wade in farmerville did first one. I’m sending it to mike Davis in Columbia this time. They both are independent mechanics.
