The bite was not hot and heavy for Team Reelsmoke yesterday, but the fishing activity is picking up with the upcoming tournament next weekend. Pete and his crew were laying down the smack talk pretty often as they picked away at hybrids.
We were dishing out the smack pretty heavy back his way. We manage to get 2 in the boat with this 22" 5 lbs being our best to go with a 4.8 hybrid. We found the fish in the same general area that they have been for the last 2 weeks just getting them to bite is the problem. 44-45 degree water temp is holding bait and fish. All were released to be available for next weeks tournament fisherman.

We had a lot of fun jaw jacking and playing "catch" on the water.
The only pic i peraonally took yesterday. Dont havr a official count, but we may have caught 6 or so hybrids, and about 12 spots.
Unfortunately work threw me a curveball and have to goto training next weekend, so no tournament for me.

Just remember reel smoke, dont be that "pre tournament hero, tournament day zero!" Name: 20180203_142054.jpg

Went out yesterday with the crowd trying to find a few fish for next weekend. Fished some different spots in attempts to find some. Did a lot of riding and marked out several ole honey holes. Ended the day with a striper, 4 hybrids and a handful of spots. Pretty good day on the water. Keeping my pre-tournament hero label in tack. Name: 5B500AE4-AB79-4B53-B946-406C1D261FC3.jpg

Bite was a bit better today. We boated (4) 2@5# & 2@ 4.5# not good enough to place in the tournament. Team Hooksetter or Madmax have been catching some good fish lately and will be teams that will give them a run for the money next week.
There may be some of the locals that have plenty of tournament experience on Norman that can come from nowhere and take it all it's anybody's to win. You got be be "in it to win it"
