Angry Frustration at the enclosed docks

So I’ve been hitting some of the enclosed docks lately and I’ve been doing pretty well. So well that many of the other anglers get jealous and leave. I don’t mind helping others out but I can’t help the stubborn and prideful who don’t ask. The smart ones just watch me and see what I’m doing and then try their best to mimic me while others get angry or embarrassed and leave. I’ve sent atleast 20 people home frustrated over the past 3 weeks. When I first began crappie fishin I was in their shoes but I watched and learned instead of quitting. Anyone here able to admit getting jealous and leaving because you were getting badly out fished? Don’t lie

bsk83, what docks have you been to? I made my first trip to the dock to LCB Thursday and while I didn't catch all that many, I learned a lot. I left when I needed to, certainly not out of frustration. I take getting out-fished as a challenge & an opportunity to learn, not an insult. I'll be back!

JMDenney, I was there Thursday. I was the guy on the end with the bucket full of slabs. I will say I was impressed with the fishermen that day not giving up and getting frustrated. Best day I've seen in the past 3 weeks. Lately it's been crazy watching everyone pack up and leave when I catch 5 in a row and they don't catch any. I don't understand it. Seems like a competition to some of them, and then if they can't win they quit. I've been fishing Arcadia, LCB, Cobb, etc...

Well, isn't that interesting that we shared the same water that day! That was my first time crappie fishing in 30+ years. I wanted to check the dock out to see if I could take my dad there; we'll likely be there mid-week next week. I was hanging out mostly on the NW corner, the one that mentioned having a (literal) handful of kids. Sorry for not saying hi, I'll introduce myself next time I see you there.

When it's not iced over, do folks fish around the outside or off the rocks as well?

You have to know where to fish at Arcadia. Only one end produces any fish. Mostly very small. After dark you go outside and have a chance at slightly bigger fish. Saw a 13-14” brought to the surface and lost. I caught 10 dinks yesterday and no one else caught any in the hour I was there. They stocked the lake with saugeye this year so that should help the crappie fishing eventually.

Can't get jealous of getting out fished since I'm usually the one being out fished!

I fished LCB Friday. Nobody hammering 'em. I hammered the dinks, but only had 2 good ones in about 3 hours, then got 8 good ones to 13 inches in about 20 minutes. As to out-fishing, I've been on both ends. Always try to help others, especially kids.
