All my jig eyes are cleaned out before going in the boat. I use my dremel drill with a small drill bit. Pop

I use one hook. Save it for that purpose. Heat the point and stick it right through. Easy as pie. No need to buy or rig anything special.

I typically clean the eyes before they go in the boat. Typically I use another hook. Tried one of those eye cleaners, didn't work to well. Used my pocket knife a time or two, but worry about it closing on me. I might get a awl and see how that works.

I use an old dental explorer heated and clean as I paint. Really makes me mad to walk into a store and see jigs hanging on the wall with eyes painted solid, sloppy work.

My frustration of dealing with jigs that had their eyes painted shut is part of what lead me to making my own. I’ll never have to bust out the eye of a jig again Jig eye cleaner

I'm loving this board. I don't tie many crappie jigs but I do tie larger jigs for stripers and even bigger ones for tarpon and snook and once I bake on the powder paint it is a real pain to bust through the eyes if I don't do it while the paint is still hot. I hadn't been smart enough to think about heating the needle or hook before trying to push it through...very smart.
