Default Last Day of Fishing LOZ for 2017 and a Little Excitement on the Way Home

Bass fished in the evening without much success, but did get some small fish. Stayed after dark for a night bite and limited out at 1845 hours. Very nice peaceful night, barely had to work the trolling motor. Drifted minnows 7 to 20 feet down in 30 to 40 fow in a pocket cove on the Gravios where the main channel switches directions.

So on the way home I decided to stop at Dollar General to get a frozen pizza. I stopped at the exit waiting to drive out of the parking lot and this truck turns into the lot, almost T-boning my truck. The driver cut his wheel and drove down the side of my boat. I did not know if he hit my trailer but he was so close I couldn't see how he missed. I dropped my flashlight in the lake so I did not have any light to see if there was damage. I flagged the driver down and asked if he hit my trailer. I immediately could tell he was hammered drunk and he said he did not hit me. I told him to shine his headlights on the trailer to make sure and he slowly started to drive away. I told him to check my trailer or I was gonna jerk his drunk bleep out of the truck. His truck did not have any plates so there was no way of getting his name. He then rolled up the window and drove off while I was beating on his glass. I followed him and called 911 as we were driving down an outer road where he almost ran into the ditch several times. When we came to get on Highway 54 there was a trooper ahead waiting on us so he crossed the highway and pulled into a parking lot. He got out, could barely talk, and pissed himself. Obviously he was arrested and turned out he did hit the fender on my trailer. Big thumbs up to Jefferson City Joint Communications and MSHP! There are some dangerous people out there. Hey if you drink don't drive, do the watermelon crawl.....

Congrats on the crappie. You might have saved someone's life if that guy would have crossed lanes and hit some one head on.
