I was greatly honored yesterday afternoon to take Dr Phillip's SIL and Grand kids fishing below Chickamauga dam. Adam wanted to get his sons into bluegill fishing at an early age and we were able to manage just that for a short period of time.
We only had a couple of hours to fish before the threat of rain had us scurrying for cover. TVA was blasting at the new lock site and we had to stay downriver a couple of hundred yards for about 45 minutes total of the two hours that we had to fish. They finally let us up to the RR trestle bridge pilings and after a short scan of the area, we put Crazy Ivan on Spot Lock and let the boys help us catch a few fish. They were small bluegills today, but we also caught yellow bass and one short crappie. The boys seemed to have fun. I know that I did.
This is just the beginning for Austin (4) and Braxton (2.5) and I'm sure that we will get many more opportunities to take the boys out when they come in for a visit to Papaw Phil. Bobby Garland Itby Bitsy with Powerbait crappie nibbles were what the fish liked today.

That’s a great gesture on your part! Well done!
Glad you were able to get out and take the boys fishing. Memories made to last a life time
Fishing with the young ones is the best. I have 4 grand daughters and their day is coming! Take a kidand get them away from those game consoles and cell phones for a few hours, they will thank you later.
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
Sounds like you and kids had a great time, and the kids will always remember that trip believe me.
