Default Lake Shelbyville 12/17/2017 Still good!

Teamed up with Terry Davis and had Steve Nichols from WAND TV to do a segment on late fall/winter fishing! Didn't take long before Steve had enough footage and he exchanged his camera to a pole in hand! We sent him home with some slabs. While fishing Terry talked about crappie taco's I think everyone's was ready for some!!! Also I believe we made a firm believer out of Steve on crappie fishing in the winter when most put there boats up for the winter!

That’s awesome. Also crappie tacos are probably my favorite way to eat crappie filets lol

Speaking of ways to eat crappie..... One day last winter after a great February day fishing we came home and cut them all up and put half in the freezer and the other half we put on the grill. My brother in law made a tray out of aluminum foil and grilled them with butter and garlic salt. HOLY COW they were great.

Try blackened crappie too. Pretty great.

How in the world did you make the lake go that flat? The old retiree was at the ville today and let me tell you there were a lot of guys that don't put their boat up for winter.

I don't think we had anything to do with it going flat! But it sure was well welcomed!!! Little breezy in the morning before the drizzle/rain. Talked to Bear and he said lots of boats out yesterday! Guess you didn't run into him... Glad the Old Retiree got to fish another day!
