    Your post took me back to when my father-in-law made deer and elk sausage in Montana. My favorite was the garlic sausage, then the summer sausage. Smoked salmon and big smoked lake trout were also excellent. My favorite snack when ice fishing was the garlic sausage. Really miss those days. The wife says no more ice fishing, since she is staying in Oklahoma in the winter.

    I have been wanting to try some landjager! Had some way back when I had relatives in Michigan. We make summer sausage, snack sticks, breakfast sausage, brats.
