Default Izorline is holding up well.

I just wanted to give a report on Izorline monofilliment. I'm not trying to sell or represent this company but rather just give a report on how it has held up for two weeks of use. So far it has held up very well, it is not perfect but I have not found any line yet that is. I have caught bass over 3lbs on it and many large bluegill as you have seen by my post. It spools up very well and has little memory, although I do use a line conditioner every time I go out. The area I am fishing is lined with thick brush and of course the fish are practically right in it. The line has good abrasion resistance and holds a knot well. I still like Ande line but is seems to be thicker in diameter and has more memory. Here is a big copper nose I caught yesterday that truly put the line to the extreme test. These pictures never do a fish justice but believe me this guy had me believing it was another large bass. Name: Big boy tore it up 12-12-17 001.jpg

I know I have looked everywhere and so far I can't find any information. They are located here in So. Cal. so maybe if I keep digging I will find out the diameter of this line. On another note I found a cool measuring mat on Amazon just like LedHed has. As soon as I get it in the mail I will start using it to measure my catches. Being some what new to this bluegill fishing I actually didn't realize how fortunate I was to be sitting on a trophy blue gill lake. I am enjoying this type of fishing every bit as much as bass angling.

Thanks, but where did you find?

    I'm only interested in the lighter lines -- 2, 4 and 6#.

I just called Izorline and they gave me the diameter of the 2 and 4 lb. line. 2 lb. in inches is 0.0059 and the 4lb. is 0.0079.

I normally use millimeters for diameter, so I'll convert. The 2# equates to .15mm which is about 3# breaking strain. The 4# equates to .20mm, which is about 5# breaking strain. (Most 4# lines sold in the US are .20mm.)

And all that's fine. I'm not trying to set any "line class" records. I just think the diameter gives you a better idea of the actual breaking strength of the line.

    Thanks for checking.

Got some 2.5# that is .117 mm and some 1.5# that is .090 mm. Get great casting distance with both those lines but seeing the .090 is impossible. Hard enough to see the .117 and it is hi-vis. They make a 2# test that is jet black in color. Maybe I could see it....LOL.

There is not a lot of consistency among line manufacturers. I've seen 2# lines from .10mm to .17mm.

I think red/dark orange would be the perfect hi-vis color -- but I can't find any.
