Default Looking for Fish Finder / GPS

I知 in the process of setting up a boat for fishing to leave at our camp on Lake Larto. I知 looking for a fish finder / gps in the 500 and under range (if that痴 possible). I have never used one so my knowledge on them is zilch. Which brand(s) and features should I be looking for?

I would suggest getting in contact with Brian@BBGMarine ... and talk to him. His prices are going to be at or below what most other vendors charge. https://www.bbgmarine.com/

Be sure and tell him that you are a member here (if you use the ph# in the link above). Or PM him thru the site : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/member.php?u=31944

I've had no dealings with Brian, but have seen many positive remarks about him & his customer service.

I would look at a Humminbird Helix they are user freindly and very good units and there are several closeouts right now if you look around and I wouldn't be scared of buying a used one that's were you can get the most for your money IMO.

I returned a Hummingbird Helix because the user interface was awful in my opinion. Bought a Garmin SV and am amazed how much more user friendly it is.

The new Hook 2 is automatic. Made for beginners. May have to get one myself.
