Default Arctic Blast Weekend Coming Up

Hey guys. Last Saturday I fished in the afternoon. Caught one bass. About the size of my minnow. lol. Shad looked like they were in tight balls. Spider rigged through them and nothing. Water was 56 degrees. Didn't mark any fish in 8 to 10 fow. But I did in 14 - 16 fow. I ran 4 rods off the bow at all depth and nothing. I saw the super moon coming up on the way home. Though that might be the reason.
Do you think the cold weather will help or hurt fishing this weekend? Could they be moving out of the creeks into deep water brush now? I can see it now. I'll fish deep and catch 3 and Gene the Fishing Machine will make a video this weekend throwing his Bobby Garland in 5 fow on a flat and catch 100. LOL

I went both Saturday and Monday and my grand total for both days was two crappie. It was so slowwww for us. I spoke with a couple other guys at the boat ramp and they didn't do much better, but did manage a few more.

What this tells me is I need to get better at crappie fishing. I really thought they would have bit well this past weekend.

Believe that it will have been cold enough long enough that by this weekend the shock of the cold front coming in will have worn off. Should be able to get on them this weekend.

I hope so. We are one week past the full moon as well.
I've got a steam plant discharge down here so I plan to look into that warm water also.

Usually three days after a cold front and they will be ready to go.

I went out Monday and the bite was very slow. I believe had something to do with the super full moon. I think they fed all through the night.

I agree with CrappieFlopper! A few days after a front and usually they back to a pattern and biting! If not its still a good day to fish!

I fished Sunday in a t-shirt and shorts, caught two all day long. I fished yesterday in three layers of winter wind proof clothing and still only caught two. They are stacked in the channel, not biting. I'm hoping this cold snap will move them into the shallows and beginning a spawn.
