Thread: Finally

Finally seen one big enough to shoot. Took a while to track her considering she ran literally 400 yards into the woods, that drag was no fun on the way out of thick woods and briar thickets but well worth it for some meat in the freezer.

I didn’t think I hit her just by how she acted, didn’t kick or run off with her tail down. She took off like a rocket and When I went to look for blood I saw I hit her tracked her deep into the woods checked my gps and I was 502 yards from my stand. The shot was around 130 yards.

yes sir I have seen a many run off like nothing happened and or in some cases just walk away nonchalantly as well . I have shot several deer twice thinking I missed the first shot . sure is strange sometimes , I remember one 8 point very well at about 50 yards with a 30 30 that I double lunged and he just kept walking after a slight little kick of one hind leg and I thought I shot under him . so I raised up the second time and hit him right in the spine and when I went to him he was a clean kill on the first shot .
