Thread: 2017 "Shots From The Hip"

Another one of Dad's 5:30 am morning wake up calls was "Get up Steve, time to go make the donuts"! He nor I ever made a donut to this day, but it meant it was time to go to work, mom would have bacon and eggs on the stove going.
Try as I might to sleep in, it just doesn't happen.....I guess I was wired this way as a youngster......chores had to be done, cattle, hogs fed, cause at first light you'd be on a tractor.

I guess there is some things you can never change, as much as I try.

Always been a 1st shifter. Even as a kid growing up I could never understand my sister's sleeping until 10 or even later??

Now here I am at dang near 64 living the dream, traveling, and NO WORK, and still wake up at 5 am. Heck the coals ain't even out in the fire pit from last night!

Didn't get as much done on my job as I wanted but it will still be there when I get back. Have everything ready to go into the truck. Gonna head to Walmart for an oil change then load up and head south to Louisiana. Shingles are getting delivered today and dumpster tomorrow. Found out that they don't offer roof top delivery in that part of the state so we have a guy coming with a loader tractor with forks to get get them on the roof. I'm hoping we can get enough done Thursday and Friday so I can hook up with a buddy and go fishing Saturday.

Is that just south of Chattanooga, Tn, Don? My daughter is in Dunwoody, Ga, just north of Atlanta and I go through that area when I go down to visit. Pretty country with some good crappie lakes near by.

Yes sir Jerry. Wife has kin down in Savannah so we're going to wander that way slowly. Eventually end up down near Sarasota for the Christmas holidays. After that our only plan is to stay in the "warm zone" somewhere.
