Default Cotaco Creek, 10 November 2017

First, Happy Veterans Day to all that served our great Nation!

Catch: 40. Kept 20 between 11 and 14 inches. Big fish was 14". Even caught a few bass. I couldn't find anyone at the Triana ramp to give them to, so I will be doing some cleaning

Launched at Triana. Sunrise picture is at 0618. I stopped fishing at 0930.

Fishing was excellent today. Much better than the last trip on 14 October. Smaller fish (<9-11") were tight in the laydowns. Larger fish were in tight groups around the laydowns. I cast and let the jig follow the water column until I found fish. They were hungry. I could pick up numbers at one time then follow their slow movement.

Bait: 1/24oz plain lead head jig. Monkey milk only. Didn't need anything else today.

Water temp was 62 degrees. Water was a somewhat clear given the recent rain.

Beautiful day! Bonus was the opportunity to see a bald eagle and 4 deer crossing the creek. Tried to capture the deer with the camera. Picture doesn't quite capture the treat seeing the deer out for a swim.

Great day. They aren't always this good.

A few pics from this morning. Will try to lay out the fish for a final pic later.

Nice job, your report makes me want to go even worse. I have been wanting to try Cotaco or Limestone for the past couple of weeks but just had too much going at work and home. Good Lord willing I may make it to one or the other tomorrow.

Slabby: No. I stayed North of the bridge. Never made it that far. Didn't even make it to the big flat area. First pic is leaving Indian Creek. Last pic is the small creek near the river. This is where the deer were crossing today. Another one crossed just inside the mouth of the river.

Question: has anyone cut the trees yet? Still want to link up with you to explore farther south past Grindle hole.

Anytime and it hasn't been cut all the way but you can get through the top if you go slow with trolling motor, last time I was there which was about a week and half ago and before they dropped the water all the way down
