    Default Wateree 11/4

On the advice of a fellow Crappie.com member, I broke down and bought a new I-Pilot trolling motor for my pontoon. I had held off because they are not cheap to buy, but I'm sure glad I did! Took my toy out yesterday for a shakedown cruise and couldn't resist wetting a hook. Used my new spot lock to anchor over some deep brush piles and managed to catch 10 crappies, with 6 very nice keepers. Took a break for lunch and then spent the afternoon using Autopilot to "drift" for catfish. The big boys were hungry, caught 8 total with my buddy catching a 41 lb PB. Overall, a great day of fishing and fun learning my new toy. Have pics, but not sure how to add them

New toys are always fun to use. Even better is getting on some fish the first time out.

Somebody gave you some good advice didn't they! I like mine and if I can get everyone on board trained to use it, then I can fish. LOL
Good luck with it and catch some more fish!

An ipilot is a must especially for crappie fishing.

Have bought 3 I-pilots so far (sold and bought boats) and wouldn't do without one. Congrats on your new toy. I know it will serve you well. It's a MinnKota!
