    Default Water level offset question

This is probly been covered a million times but I missed it and im new to the high tech electronics. Im wondering how to use the water level offset function. My home lake grenada fluctuates alot and im hoping this will help me out. How exactly do I figure the offset? Say for instance rite now our full pool is listed at 215.00 and water level is 202.40 so its 12.6 foot below full pool. Would I just set the offset to -12 and roll on?

I agree. Great simple information/solution. I definitely would have made it more complicated trying to use TVA lake levels.

One additional note to the links scrat posted is both of those videos are referring to Water Level Offset in HB core numbered series units ...

In newer software versions of HELIX units the Water Level Offset for LakeMaster mapping is under the "HB Chart tab" ...

Depth charts in my area ain't accurate. Contours along the banks are functional, but when you look at/for depths of channels, around mounds, etc, then accuracy is taboo. I have never seen anyone surveying depth in our area. I have seen Navionics zipping around over the years, but never in the creeks or bays or whatever off the main channel (Big Sandy). What the mappers are doing is just painting wgs84 real purdy like in areas off the main channel. Looks good, but indeed wrong in many areas. I can back up my claims.

Did you look in the 998 Chart tab for Water Level Offset like depicted in the links scrat provided ...??

In the 1st video Doug V is using a 1198 and adjusting Water Level Offset on LakeMaster mapping under the Chart tab ...

HELIX software added an additional "HB Chart" tab just for LakeMaster settings ...

There is a big price jump between the 10 Mega and the 12 .... can almost get 2 10's for the price of a 12....and if you network one of them without connecting a transducer to it you could have a spare transducer. Could get one 10 and add another later.....if there is room to have 2 you would have a LOT more screen real-estate.
