Then it happened ...I downsized and went real short under the float and dragging it with the current and the rest is just lip rippin history ....
needed fish for my this years episode of THE MASK and low and behold there they was waiting and ready to become a post on a crappie forum somewhere ....
got me a new SKULL hard shell mask and it was just the ticket to compliment a nice lip ripping festival all alone down there . my buds say I am crazy and I say a little bit , but its only on the outside ....
so happy halloweeen to all and NEVER take this sport to serious ...it will take the fun right out of it ....
stay tuned but don't stay thirsty ...
Short, meaning shallower? Or a foot or so under the cork? Lately I could not catch a crappie if it fell in the boat. Water temp on Lake Austin has dropped to 65 degrees and I assume they may have moved shallow as they darn sure are not on our brushpiles. Thx for your continued encouragement!

a wandering doe came walking down the shore and we both looked at each other at almost the same time .....the look in her eyes was PRICELESS as she left her skin there when she went away like a bolt of lightning .....LOL

18 inches under the float in around 3 to 5 foot of water , but by no means is the rule hard and fast , these fish break a lot of rules in this spot . they swim up from the lake in a fair current and like to ambush things from the bottom where they rest at different spots along the journey
