    Default Anybody fishing paint creek?

Wondered if anyone had been doing any good the last couple weeks at Paint Creek? I haven’t been there for about 3 weeks. Possibly heading over this weekend.

I bank fish it all winter for crappie , lake is down 2' from summer pool right now, I'll wait a week or two then hit it.

I went Sunday. Wind was really bad. We didn’t do too well. Only 6 keepers. Was using minnows. I have to learn this jig technique. Just not sure where to begin throwing them.

only lake i know of that would be close and fishable would be Rocky Fork. its not flood control and although it may get murky and rise quick with lots of rain, it will go back down just as quick.

Wow, I would of thought Rf was a flood control lake, is it also a natural lake that has been damed? I fished there once in late Fall about this time of year and would like to get back out earlier in the Fall

Tom RF has a spillway much like Cowan. Cowan will be drawn down 3' below summer pool by 12/31
I looked at the state drawdown schedule for Ohio lakes and I didn't see RF listed so I would have to assume it stays at or near the same elevation all year.
I didn't see Acton listed either so I assume it doesn't have a draw down and I always thought it also has a spillway also.

Yes like I stated earlier, RF will rise quick with lots of rain but will go back down just as fast. I have fished it after a flash flood rain and seen the lake up a couple feet, and before I left the lake going back down quickly.
