    Default Pascagoula river 16OCT2017

Decided to go to the Pascagoula today. The first time I’ve ever fished there. I thought the cold front that didn’t come through this morning would have helped, but it was just really windy instead.

Anyway, found a pattern eventually and stuck with it. Ended up with 7 or 8 sacalait, a few decent bass, and a couple bluegill. Caught more, but tossed the rest back.

I launched at little river marina and went up those fingers at "fishing bayou". I was throwing a triple tail up shallow in and around lilly pads and kept getting bit short, so I swapped to a small beetle spin and start catching more. I was also jigging a black and chartreuse tube jig in any deep structure I could find and picked up a few that way.
I wanted to jig all the docks on the main river, but it was too windy to get and stay in a position where I could really do anything.
I'm definitely going back sometime soon. Just have to get some of my school work out of the way first.

Good to hear a report from the southern portion of the state. The Pascagoula is a pretty river to fish. I know you enjoyed this trip, look forward to more reports.

I plan to get in a lot more trips. I graduate from nursing school in December, so that’ll free up a lot more time!
I also fish in the back bay for reds, specks, and flounder. But I actually prefer fresh water fishing.

Very nice. Congrats! My uncle use to take me fishing in Rotten bayou off the Jordan River. There are crappie along the coast and glad you caught some. Hope you catch many more!
