It won't. Had one and tried it in some of the clearer lakes in the delta, but you could only see a couple of feet. Finally gave it to my grandson who uses it in the gulf.

They need clear water like Martin to see any distance.
Just wandering if I pulled up in some fallen timber will it let me see if there are crappie in it.
On the Coosa chain of lakes it would be useless.
