    Default Maumelle Creek

So I Got out early Saturday am on Big and Little Maumelle Creeks. Ran around to a few old spots. The Water was 76 degrees and at low levels. Boy...we need some rains. Clarity was stained and normal greenish. Could see hints of Fall in the hard Oaks and others down the bank as the morning sun hit them. The Cypress are starting to turn a little. With the air feeling cooler, it was nice to know Fall Fishing is about to break loose. As the water continues to cool down, The Shad will start moving into the Mouth of these two Rivers from the Main River. More Crappie will follow and the bite will really be on. But Not this day...it was a late Summer pattern.

I managed to track down 8 fish in two hours. Pics are the two biggest ones. All were relating to Wood and in 7 to 9 feet of water. Bobby Garland Jigs were the favored Jigs.

One other thing... A full size Bass boat came roaring down the Creek toward my position by some Cypress trees. As these two Jack Wagons approached me, I assumed they might slow down as I was 15 feet off the Channel they were in. Nope.... They came within 20 feet of my boat wide open and Waked my Ranger Broadside. I stared them down and they waved like old friends. I had thoughts of pulling my Glock off my belt and firing off a warning shot over the Bow. But cooler heads got the best of me.

Were they ignorant or Jack Wagons ???

    Lord help Me.

I don't have a problem with lower units on Conway going away. I took Matt Horton in the boat with me he can back up the story. Lake Conway is perfectly fine so long as you know where you are going. I run a 18' Bass Cat with a 175 merc on it. I have been running big bass boats out there for years.

I will say this though, I am courteous to other fisherman, if I have to pass them with in the laws restrictions, I drop off of plane/pad and go by them at a speed of no more than 5mph gps. There are some who are real B-holes that don't though, and it irritates me by their lack of respect for other fisherman.

Nice catch and report. Thank you. Sorry you had to deal with inconsiderate boaters.
