Glad ya was able to catch a few. The winds have been tough the last couple of days.

Went long line trolling saturday, water temp was 78. Caught nine trolling in timber. None of any size. Biggest was 10 inches, threw all back. Used 1/16 ounce head, with black chartreuse, blue chartreuse, and john deere green. Nearly got blown off lake. Matter of time before they turn on. Air temp was nice after being 98 on thursday, and 95 on friday.

Sounds like you made the most of the day, it is tough fishing in wind.
Tough day for sure. The wind is suppose to blow hard up to Thursday and calm down for the weekend

Would they be turned on by the end of Oct? I'm on vacation then
Maybe before then, these cool nights, plus length of day, will have a big effect. On water temps. Usually third saturday in october, georgia's opening gun season on deer. I have noticed that my catch rates, when hearing the guns firing, seems to coincide with deer hunters out in force. Seems to be a good time to longline for crappie. Am concerned about how fast the hill is dropping, last time i checked on sunday, it was 8.5 ft low. Hartwell also 8ft low. Russell full, go figure!!
John 3:16Eatmorecrappie thanked you for this post
Russel has to stay within 4’ Of full pool by law so yes the Hill pays for it. Hate to hear Hartwell and the Hill are this low and this time of the years is mostly dry.
Good to hear you got some time on the lake and caught some. The wind was tough.
