    Default Greenwood 9-26-17

I finally decided to go get a pound of minnows and try my luck.
Put in before daylight headed to the bridge columns and tried jigs and minnows with no results.
Went looking for bait fish and brush piles l had marked the last year of looking.
Got lucky and found bait fish over scattered brush with fish 20 feet deep.
Wind was picking up so I tight line minnows on long rods to stay on the fish best l could.
Managed to keep a few 10 inch fish or better and caught several throw backs before the wind got the best of my efforts.
Water temp 79 when l put in.
Greenwood has been tough for me to catch fish consistently since moving back last year.
Hopefully with fall cool temps coming l can get out there more and figure these fish out.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

    Crappie Fire
Did not fish either of the trussells. I fished 221 bridge without catching a fish which surprised me as the bridges and trussels always hold some crappie l just didn't catch them.
I side scanned the bridge columns which showed lots of shad and a few scattered fish.

Went back this morning only got 8 again. Lost several good fish flipping off due to hooks with very little barb on them and not using the net which l rarely do except for the thugs l put in livewell until through fishing and l released them.
Live and learn always look at the hooks before buying.
