Took two of my buddies from high school fishing at Stockton Lake. We were hoping for cooling weather and got hot blue bird skies. Got there Thursday afternoon and went after walleyes. Caught two, one nice one was 21 inches and two crappie. Friday they wanted to go small mouth fishing and caught alot of shorts but no keepers. Yes Paul I caught a 5lb drum on that day. Call Weldon and he met us on the lake Saturday morning. Had to hit several brush piles before we found one with fish on it. Caught a basket full so we sent my friends home with some crappie fillets thanks to Weldon. Got to see Jeremy also when he stopped by the marina. It looks like I need to make an October trip back down there.![]()

Glad you found and caught a few.
If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles![]()

Good you got into some Walleye and smallmouth as well as a basket of crappie mark. Good for Weldon to come and show you how it's done. WTG

Good for you Mark. Knowing a few c.c members comes in handy. I've been thinking it is time for one of them show up and fish days.

Most crappie were caught in 13' water next to brush pile. Had to hold it still for them to bite. Used Beagleman's favorite, chartruse / brown slab buster and 1/16 jig to catch them.
