    Default Where to night fish?

Looking for some opinions. I'm going to try my hand at night fishing this evening. I have two spots in mind. One in open water (lake), one in pipeline canal. Similar water quality, similar depth, both with structure nearby. Caught fish in the pipeline during day, never tried the lake.

    Any opinions?

With that little bit of info, go to where you've caught fish before. I love night fishing in summer. Haven't done it in a long time. Was one of my first dates with my now wife.
Night fishing was also one of my best fishing trips ever when in hard times.
Be patient and be prepared to move/cast shallow around your lights.... no matter what water temp is.

You probably already went ... With the Pipeline being Narrow it would be more likely to have more Mosquitoes bothering you. The more open water whether river or lake has a tendency to be better . We found this is true running Trot lines. Skeeter repellent on the fingers affects the Bite from fish

we night fish all the time . I have a green light that we put down about a foot deep in front of the boat . After a little while the minnows start circling and the circle grows bigger and bigger . soon there are hundreds of bait fish in the circle. We use corks with little light sticks in each one so you can see what the line is doing. we set the rods in rod holders with a shiner on each one and wait for the fish to bend the poles . If you live in stephensville, I would fish out in the bayou just out side of that sub division . As you come out of the subdivision about half way across bayou . Good luck
