I dont mind the door as much as getting there at 5am and no one is there to open.Oh well, perhaps the new shop will send a wake up call. $17 per lb is a joke

Never could figure out why some bait shops open later than there posted time and sometimes well after daylight. I'm just a punctual person I reckon, I have switched lakes completely on a whim before after waiting 10 minutes for the doors to open past opening hour. I got no time for crap, open your doors at "your" posted hour and give me a decent count, a cup of hot coffee and a warm greeting is always nice as well! Wish this fella well in his ventures, I will sure check him out, just don't be late to open up fer us and half the battle is won already![]()

I received less minners in a lb at lakeway this year than I ever have. Everytime I bought I ended up shaking my head saying no way to myself, not to mention the increase in price. By the dozen, they were hand counted exactly. I don't expect them to take a loss but I also see the minners as a leader to get you in the store to buy those high mark up snacks. When I don't get a good deal with the bait I don't buy nothing else. Just saying..

I won't buy a minnow in desoto county unless there sponsoring an event. There prices are crazy. 4 dollars a dozen is absurd when I've never pd more than 2.75 for them and cheapest 1.30. That's dang near the whole st of ms, parts of tn, ark, ky, and La. never seen anything like it. As far as lakeway on $17 a lb, it's still prolly cheaper to buy that way than have them count out a dozen. Most my minnows come from the chuck stop on hwy 51 between pope and Enid. I've never been shorted a minnow and at times have gotten twice what I pd for. We buy lotsa minnas
I've always gotten good counts at Tim's, Longbranch Store, at Enid.
