    Default Crappie still biting, 8-19

Went out to lake wateree and was out on the water by 630, started off slow and only had 4 in the live well and a couple throw backs after two spots. The third spot gave me 6 keepers and a few throwbacks due to size. Left them biting as i caught them while i was reeling up lines, but sweat was blinding me and decided the leave and was loaded up by 930. There is fish to be caught but the window is small. Largest was about pound and half, this was also the most smalls ive ever caught which is a great sign for the future. Probably the last fishing for me until i get back from mn at the end of september. Need to get scopes zeroed for deer hunting also.

Glad you got a mess before it got so hot you couldn't see. That is my problem the heat....fish were biting when I hung it up a month or so ago. I'm waiting for cooler weather myself. Will just have to eat a few messes I froze before quitting I guess.

Nice catch and report Tim. I agree that biting fish are available to those who can tolerate the heat. I'm a heat guy, much more so than the cold. The fishing has been good to very good my last few trips out on Santee.

Congrats on a good mess of fish, glad you were able to hit the water. I'm also tired of this heat. I was asked to go deer hunting this past friday but it was just too hot. I'm on vacation this coming week and may ride to the club if temps come down at end of the week. Tim did you find a club? Thanks for sharing.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
